Leaving a former employee's account active allowed hackers to control a city's water supply. I suppose disabling accounts is too much to ask.

The Full Story

Severity: Critical Mood: Frustrating

It seems turning off a former employee's login credentials is far too advanced for our municipal water heroes, who graciously let hackers slide in and take control of the city's supply. This magnificent oversight directly threatened the local citizens, who probably expected their local utility team to know how to delete an account. Protecting ourselves from this mind-numbing laziness involves the revolutionary task of actually offboarding staff and disabling dormant accounts. But of course, expecting basic administration in this day and age is just a recipe for heartbreak.
