Tech Industry: We're Not Broken, We're Just... Evolving
The US government somehow managed to block Iranian propaganda sites, because that's exactly what the country should be spending its time on. Meanwhile, a marketing company realized they had a bunch of customer data they shouldn't have had in the first place. It's amazing how often companies need to be told to not be incompetent.

You'd think the cybersecurity landscape would be a little less... 'eventful' for once, but no, we've got Russian intelligence pretending to be customer support on Signal, sending phishing emails, and generally making a mockery of the whole 'keeping users safe' thing. I mean, it's not like these guys were trying particularly hard or anything - just a bunch of amateur hour catfish tactics. Apparently, it only takes a few basic social engineering tricks for these 'support agents' to get people to give up their login credentials. Because, you know, users are just that gullible - and their passwords are probably still on sticky notes under their keyboards.Somehow, these phishers are using Signal's very own messaging service against the people who use it. The 'customer support' messages look so good, even I'm impressed - I mean, who needs a phishing kit when you can just pose as a friendly tech guru and say 'we need to verify your login credentials for security reasons'? The FBI and CISA are warning users about this obvious tactic, mainly because these Russian catfish have an almost limitless budget for exploiting human stupidity. The whole situation is a slap in the face to everyone who works in IT for a living - mainly because these phishers didn't even bother to hide their tracks. They're just openly targeting people, hoping someone will fall for their lame tricks, and probably laughing all the way to the bank as they watch people's account credentials get compromised left and right.
