Shock horror: unpatched CMS exploited
The ACSC is begging us to patch our internet-facing CMS platforms because attackers have discovered they are unpatched. Apparently, once a month is not enough warning for some.

In a shocking twist that absolutely nobody saw coming, the ACSC has issued its second warning in two months about a massive campaign targeting unpatched CMS platforms. It seems website administrators and organizations are treating patches as optional suggestions rather than critical fixes. To protect ourselves from this entirely preventable headache, we are being urged to immediately audit and patch our CMS software and plugins. I suppose doing the absolute basics of IT maintenance is far too tedious for our busy schedules, so we will just wait for the next warning.
