The Full Story
Just when you thought your in-memory database was safe, Redis has been forced to release seven separate security patches for memory corruption bugs affecting versions 6.2 through 8.8. These lovely Streams shared-NACK use-after-free and RedisBloom out-of-bounds write flaws let attackers execute remote code via RESTORE commands, thoroughly ruining admin weekends everywhere. Database admins can miraculously dodge this catastrophe by performing the unfathomable task of upgrading to patched branches or revoking RESTORE privileges.
