Paperclip AI Opens Server Doors Wide
Two flaws in Paperclip AI allow malicious agent imports to run commands on servers and workstations. Another brilliant day for open-source AI tools.

The Full Story
Predictably enough, open-source AI control plane Paperclip was found suffering from two security flaws that execute arbitrary host commands. Merely importing a malicious AI agent is enough to hand over control of a developer's laptop or network server. Developers using Paperclip to manage artificial intelligence teams were left directly exposed by this oversight. Stopping host compromise from bad agent imports requires vetting third-party packages, applying software patches promptly, and running management control planes inside isolated environments.
