The Full Story
It seems Powys County Council couldn't keep its school networks secure, leaving pupils, staff, and their contacts to deal with the inevitable data exposure. The intruders apparently had a lovely time browsing personal records back in April before anyone noticed. Now, the council is playing the generous benefactor by sending out warnings and giving advice on how to lock the barn door after the horse has bolted. I suppose we must all diligently follow their brilliant security tips to magically un-expose our details. It is just another exhausting Tuesday in our endless struggle against basic network hygiene.
