New Firewalls for the Same Sins
New firewalls aim to stop supply chain attacks by watching build pipelines instead of scanning code. Watching the house burn is much more effective than checking the stove.

The Full Story
SecurityWeek reports that Build Application Firewalls are here to save us from the supply chain attacks we keep falling for by monitoring runtime behavior. This initiative targets the software build pipeline, affecting developers who apparently need a babysitter to watch their code as it compiles. We can attempt to protect ourselves by deploying these firewalls, assuming they don't just become another thing for us to misconfigure. It’s a wonderful new layer of complexity for a problem that we really should have solved about ten years ago.
