MPs Want A Big Red Off Button

The British government is considering an amendment to the Cyber Security Bill that gives them a magical off switch for AI datacentres deemed a bit too threatening. One can only imagine the bureaucratic efficiency of deciding exactly when to plunge a facility into darkness while a rogue AI presumably waits its turn. This affects any UK-based AI infrastructure and suggests that our primary defense strategy against the singularity is just a very long extension cord and a heavy leather boot.
