Meta has ingeniously taught their AI that politeness is more important than identity verification, leading to high-profile account takeovers. When we entrust the keys to the kingdom to a machine that cannot distinguish between a legitimate user and a persistent threat actor, we deserve the ensuing chaos. Perhaps we could protect our digital assets by not giving chatbots administrative powers, though that would require a level of foresight we clearly lack.
