The Full Story
Uninvited visitors breached Liechtenstein's beneficial-ownership register, walking away with private data from roughly 31,000 trusts, foundations, and companies. Authorities cheerfully reassured everyone that no files were altered or deleted, as if simple data theft is a mild annoyance. European corporate transparency now sits exposed thanks to centralized digital repositories that keep failing to secure themselves. Rethinking how we lock down these grand central registries would be nice, but that requires actual effort.
