The Full Story

Severity: Critical Mood: Concerning

Tens of thousands of students and guardians in Helsinki are now part of a data breach investigation because someone couldn't be bothered to patch a remote access server. This unauthorized actor simply walked through an unpatched vulnerability on a network drive, proving once again that basic maintenance is far too much to ask for. To protect ourselves from this level of negligence, we might actually try installing the updates we spend our lives downloading. It’s a bold strategy, but perhaps it’s better than letting the entire education system's data leak into the digital void.
