The Full Story
Unauthenticated miscreants immediately began plundering files from exposed GitLab servers, because waiting more than a single day to exploit a critical flaw would be terribly impolite. Defending your server against this unauthenticated path traversal means patching the second code drops, assuming you do not fancy uninvited guests reading arbitrary files. Just another Tuesday in IT, where twenty-four hours to patch is twenty-three too late.
