Nearly five million Charter Communications customers are currently enjoying the distinct pleasure of having their stolen records leaked online by the charming ShinyHunters group. To defend against the inevitable fallout of this massive corporate oopsie, we will just have to monitor our credit files and pretend our private data isn't floating around the dark web. It is comforting to know that tens of millions of records can just wander off because someone forgot how basic security works.
