Educational institutions across the board found themselves back in the stone age when their primary SaaS platform decided to take an unscheduled sabbatical during finals week. Thousands of students and faculty are currently staring at blank screens, which is admittedly one way to avoid a difficult exam. Protecting ourselves requires the radical step of having offline backups and perhaps a healthy dose of skepticism regarding cloud dependency.
