Just another Tuesday in IT, where distressed ransomware victims seeking salvation were allegedly swindled by Zohar Pinhasi hawking fake cyber services he could never actually deliver. Protecting our battered sanity against such fraudulent charlatans apparently requires hauling them before a US court rather than blindly trusting whatever snake oil is proffered in a crisis. It warms my cold, weary heart knowing that even when your data is locked away, someone is always waiting to sell you imaginary rescue.
