The NCC Group has pointed out that industrial environments are being relentlessly hammered by ransomware as we continue the brilliant trend of connecting old machinery to the internet. These two thousand attacks on construction and engineering firms suggest that operational downtime is the only lever attackers need to pull. Protecting these heavy industrial sites requires more than just crossed fingers; it requires proper network segmentation that should have existed years ago. It seems we never learn.
