Even our attackers are incompetent
A hacker group beautifully compromised their own operation by leaving directory listing enabled on a public server. At least we are not the only ones failing basic server setup.

In a heartwarming display of mutual incompetence, a phishing group targeting Microsoft 365 mailboxes left their own public server directory wide open for researchers to browse. We protect our corporate mailboxes from their MFA-bypassing proxy tricks only because these brilliant criminals left their entire toolkit and command history exposed. It is comforting to know that our adversaries are just as bad at basic server configurations as the rest of the IT world. Why bother with sophisticated defense when we can just rely on the absolute mediocrity of our attackers?
