The Full Story
North Korean threat actors have joyfully cluttered the repository with malicious npm packages using a technique called NullReceiver. Rather than using fixed domains, this malware decodes command-and-control IPs straight from blank Ethereum transaction data. Developers downloading unverified software blindly took the hit here. Defending our fragile environments requires auditing external package dependencies, blocking unvetted imports, and strictly filtering outbound network traffic.
