Same story, different day, this time featuring Berlin's state administration network surrendering a tidy 5.79 TB of data to Rhysida. Two unfortunate Senate departments bore the brunt of the chaos and had to be hastily severed from the network as the syndicate demanded thirty Bitcoin on their leak site. Defending our networks from such extortion seemingly boils down to severing affected departments completely and refusing to pay up when the ransoms roll in. Why bother building robust perimeters when the trusty ethernet cable yank remains peak incident response?
