Basic-Fit Loses More Than Just Weight
A million Basic-Fit members had their personal details lifted because apparently security is harder than a heavy leg day. The Full Story
Basic-Fit decided that protecting the personal data of a million members across Europe and the UK was perhaps too much heavy lifting for their systems. One million individuals now get to enjoy the thrill of their contact details being shared with the wrong crowd while the gym chain explains that no financial data was touched, as if that is a gold star for effort. We stay safe by assuming our gym memberships come with a free side of identity theft and by ignoring any suspicious emails promising us a better physique. It is truly heartening to see Europe's largest gym chain treat data security with the same enthusiasm most people treat their New Year's resolutions.
