Our friends at Microsoft have graced us with yet another SharePoint remote code execution vulnerability being joyfully exploited by attackers. This latest headache affects any organization still hosting SharePoint servers while ignoring their mounting stack of updates. Defending our networks from this avoidable catastrophe requires us to engage in the dark art of actually installing the security patch already provided. I know clicking 'install' is a monumental task, but unless we enjoy giving strangers full run of our systems, we should probably get around to it.
