Another Medical Database Walkabout

The Akira ransomware gang apparently spent their winter enjoying twenty-four gigabytes of corporate data from Medenet Inc., containing a lovely assortment of Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, and medical records. This unfortunate exposure naturally affects patients and clients who foolishly expected their medical billing company to keep secrets, and our only real protection now is to hope whoever bought our identities has better credit than we do. Since we cannot personally patch Medenet's network, we are left to monitor our credit files and marvel at the endless cycle of corporate security failures.
