Why do we even bother pretending Linux is invincible when an 18-year-old SCTP protocol bug has been silently letting local attackers escape containers and grab root privileges this entire time? This marvellous oversight hit Linux kernel users who foolishly believed their container boundaries were actually secure. To protect our weary infrastructure from this ancient nightmare, we must deploy kernel updates 7.1.6, 6.18.42, 6.12.101, or 6.6.148, assuming anyone actually patches.
