The Full Story
Adidas is insisting their primary systems are fine, even though over 800,000 rows of personal data and technical specs are floating around for anyone to peruse. This headache stems from an extranet portal, reminding us all that hackers don't care which door they use as long as the lock is sufficiently flimsy. To keep our own laundry private, we might try remembering that every public-facing portal is an invitation for trouble rather than a forgotten corner of the network. It’s almost impressive how consistently we leave the keys in the lock and hope for the best.
